Stevie Nicks brought her 24 Karat Gold Tour to The Air Canada Centre in Toronto on Tuesday night, with special guests The Pretenders. Stevie told the crowd they wouldn’t be hearing the same old songs they’ve heard on each of her go-rounds. She dusted off deep cuts and tracks that were left off many of her solo albums, re-worked with her current band. That doesn’t mean there were no hits though. Pretenders’ lead singer Chrissie Hynde popped back on stage after her opening set, doing her best Tom Petty and joined Stevie on her breakout single “Stop Draggin’ My Heart Around.”
The Pretenders were in fine form, kicking out the many new wave jams including “Don’t Get Me Wrong”, “Brass In Pocket”, and
“Back on the Chain Gang”
It was an incredible night with two of the most iconic musicians in classic rock joining forces.
