Mississippi Bends – The Painted Lady, Toronto

Mississippi Bends, from Hamilton Ontario, brought their swampy blues sound to the funky little stage at the back of The Painted Lady and had the crowd stompin’ and cheerin’. Currently in studio working on their debut EP, the band has already made a name for themselves on the Steeltown scene, including having co-written with the legendary Tom Wilson (Junkhouse, Lee Harvey Osmond, Blackie & The Rodeo Kings). They will be back in town to play The Local on Roncesvalles June 12th. Watch for them, and check out their website for new music, performances and tour dates, including a haunting rendition of Neil Young’s “Tonight’s The Night” on the Barbershop Podcast.
