Pairing Peter Katz and Emma-Lee on a bill together is the perfect blend of heartbreak, poignancy and humour. Oh, and music. The incredible music. Katz opened the night performing both solo and with various incarnations of his band. Among the many highlights was the sold-out Rivoli crowd absolutely silent and engrossed during his stunning rendition of Still Mind Still, the title track from his 2012 release “Still Mind Still.”
Emma-Lee opened with “Bruise Easy”,from her 2009 release Never Just A Dream, and continued with several successful singles from the excellent Backseat Heroine, Bonnie Raitt’s “I Can’t Make You Love Me” (her first time playing piano in public!) and finishing the night with an acoustic duet of “What’s Love Got To Do With It”, banjo and all!
