Elliott BROOD – The Dakota Tavern, Toronto

Alt-Country trio Elliott BROOD sold out two consecutive nights at The Dakota Tavern, playing well into the early hours, and the crowd stayed right with them till the end (on school nights at that!).

They rocked the Dakota hard. How hard? They not only busted a string, they broke the damn kick pedal. Enough said. The room was awash with guitar distortion, a banjo (as a lead, not just as an  oh-so-trendy novelty), a weird kazoo-horn contraption, beautiful vocals, and above all beautiful Canadiana-infused songwriting.

Check out their entire catalogue here.

Excellent job guys, oh and by the way, which one’s Elliott?*

Special thanks to Samantha Martin for this one 🙂

*This is a joke. Inspired by Pink Floyd’s “Have a Cigar”. Do i really need to explain this?
